Makeup Monday -- Old Nail Polish

With a shelf life of about one to two year, here are a couple creative ways to use your old nail polish:

  • Label maker: If there are multiple people in your home, you can always use polish to color-code and individualize everything, from clothing tags to toothbrushes. And if you're so inclined, use polishes to color-code your bills and files for easier sorting.
  • The key to keychain success: If you have keys on your keychain that look identical, differentiate them with a swipe of polish.
  • Touch-ups: Cracked vases, chipped pottery, and/or scuff marks on shoes can all benefit from a steady hand and artfully applied polish.
  • Give it away: If you've got a teenager in your life, let her go through your stash of polish and pick her favorite shades.
  • Get crafty: Bring some life back to old picture frames or add some colorful detail to a tired old lamp. Just use your imagination.
  • Coming undone: Buttons that constantly fall off are annoying, but with just a swipe of coordinating polish, you can affix the end of the unraveling thread to the button for good.

Giant Necklaces

Layer over a simple tee to bring on the luxe for day or wear with a maxi and flats for boho party style.

I love how gigantic necklaces just make a statment on top of plain outfits. Its a wow factor depending on the style and fit of the necklace. It is a little more difficult to find a necklace for well endowed women that does not fall inside the cleavage! But ladies if there is a will, there is a way! :)

I am currently obsessing over this Vera Wang Moonstone & Crystal Bib Necklace ($650)
a tiiiiiiiiiny bit out of my price range... but hey, a girl cant drrrrream?!?! hahaha

Girls Night Out Outfit

This outfit was for a girls night out.. I wore a blush pink Forever 21 Vintage Glam Dress from their Prom Collection (my prom was many moons ago, but haaay the dress was too cute to pass up haha), a black chained belt from Cotton On and my lovely Michael Kors strappy pumps. My Michael Kors are so comfortable, its not even funny!

My friend Rachel rocking a Graham & Spencer blouse with a cute black skirt. She polishes off this fab look with her Sergio Rossi slingback pumps!

Yay or Nay? -- Gianmarco Lorenzi Sandal

Make a statement with these bad boys... This fuschia, turquoise, and yellow slingback will definitely catch people's eyes.... I don't know if it would be a good thing or bad. What do you think Yay or Nay?
These GIANMARCO LORENZI - Suede platform sandals are all yours for the price $669.

and yes.. those ARE cutouts in the yellow platform heels, just in case you were wondering.

Wednesday on Melrose

Having a lovely birthday lunch on Melrose in LA in this gorgeous weather. We Love Sunny Days in LA!
My best friend, Lindsay, came out for the lunch and wore these hot earrings; we just had to share! Earrings are from Forever21. She's always rockin' the crazy big, but fab earrings!

We Wear Tribal Wednesday

Sarah and I just so happened to wear tribal dresses today, coincidence? Definitely not! (Actually it was, haha)
Nikki is wearing a flowery/tribal design dress by Ran*Tees from Nordstrom. (This was a nice, hand-me-down dress from the roomie; I thought, there is no way I'm letting this dress go!) Metallic Wedges are Steve Madden.
Sarah is wearing a more traditional tribal, strapless dress from Forever21. She would like to mention it was purchased last year; another example of how recycling can be useful! Her nude sweater is from H&M and sandals, in brown, with cute roses, are from the GAP.
Check out previous posts about tribal pieces HERE. In our opinion, the tribal theme is a perfect look for the spring/summer wardrobe.

Cropped Collarless Jackets

So I recently saw a picture of Beyonce and Zoe Saldana rocking these collarless tweed cropped jackets!
So chic yet casual and sophifisticated!
They are too adorable and so different. I wanted to show you 3 sets of outfits utilizing the crop jacket in 3 completely different outfits... and affordable too!
